Those who build with HEBEL know that they can rely on our quality, and that using our products will pay off from the very beginning.
More Than Eight Decades of Experience
Invented in Sweden in the 1920s, and patented by a building contractor named Josef Hebel, autoclaved aerated concrete first went into large-scale commercial use in Germany in the 1940s. Word about the new material spread quickly among the architects, engineers and builders of the day, who realized the benefits of working with a material that didn't pose the problems of decay, shrinkage, warping and flammability common in most other building materials.
Today, Xella International is the world’s leader of AAC production- with a team of 7,400 at work in 30 countries across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
