Hebel Aerated Concrete can be used to build a wide variety of structures including hotels, schools, single family homes, multi-family housing developments, commercial buildings, fire walls, privacy walls and sound-barrier walls, especially in geographic areas vulnerable to natural threats, including hurricanes and wildfires. 

Schools and Universities


The 19’8” length of our panels makes them ideal for standard classrooms and dorm room dimensions, and Hebel AAC can be used for interior walls, exterior walls, floors and roof. Protecting the environment is becoming an important concern at schools and universities, and Hebel’s thermal insulating values require less use of energy resources and lower costs over the long term to operate a building. Plus, the fire resistance and strength of a completed system make it an ideal choice for longevity, reducing the need to tear down and rebuild that is common with wood construction. Because Hebel does not emit any gases over time, indoor air quality is improved, protecting the occupants’ health.








Hospitality


AAC is ideal for many reasons in the hospitality industry, including its high thermal mass that results in lower energy bills and a one hour per inch fire rating that allows your customers more time to exit the building in case of a fire and restricts the spread of fire to other parts of the building. Plus, Hebel AAC’s porous composition results in low sound transmission.








Mining


In mining applications, Hebel AAC ventilation control blocks are ideal. They provide strength and performance to ensure safety, while easing construction with lightweight units 1/3 the weight of regular concrete block. 6”x8”x24” AAC-2 blocks are approved for MSHA Stoppings with Dry and Wet Stack.








Non-Load Bearing Walls (Fire and Shaft Walls)


Traditional gypsum fire walls and shaft walls require two inspections and that the building be dried in. Hebel AAC blocks can be installed in one application before topping out and require only one inspection, saving time and money. AAC is lightweight and can be cut with typical wood working tools, so use and modification on the job site is easy. In the case of fires, traditional shaft wall materials may be compromised by fire hoses and require zero occupancy until the wall is repaired, but Hebel AAC shaft wall assembly is a single unit which is not damaged by water.








Commercial


Time is money. Because Hebel AAC panels are manufactured in advance, there is no on-site waiting for forms to be set and concrete to cure. Panels are cured in an autoclave in the plant, propelling the curing time to a matter of hours. 2,400 square feet of wall and 3,600 square feet of floor can be set in just one day with a seasoned crew of eight.





DOT and Site Walls


Hebel AAC has a Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC) value of 50 for an AAC4, 8” thick unfinished wall. This STC, combined with Hebel’s lighter weight than traditional concrete masonry, makes AAC a perfect choice for highway and site walls. Hebel AAC is more durable than traditional corrugated metal walls. With a compressive strength of 580 psi, AAC walls combined with a finish coating will withstand the harsh conditions incurred by DOT better than its metal-based competitor.





Residential


Hebel blocks and jumbo blocks are a great match for custom residential homes. While costs are more than a traditional wood frame home, AAC walls protect against termites and fire, making AAC a better long-term investment on the quality of your home. Plus, several of our homeowners realize a lower energy bill and savings in insurance premiums. AAC can be cut and shaped with the same tools carpenters use on wood, so there are no creative limits for molding pieces on the job site for decorative accents.
